Day Train

Day Train Program

Do you like the idea of having someone initially train your dog and then do some of the training yourself so you become a more experienced pet parent? That is what our Day Train Program is all about!

This is our most popular option and the program we find the most consistent long-term success. In fact, we’ve moved away from the Board and Train Program as we see similar results with better, long lasting success and you get to enjoy the company of your dog instead of sending them away for training.

This program starts out with one full day of training camp for your dog at our facility. Your dog will be paired with one of our professional trainers and learn the fundamentals and foundation of our training program. Drop your dog off in the morning and pick him up the same day. Then, our trainer will instruct you how to execute our program so you can be rewarded with obedience and better behavior at your home. You will spend the time between sessions reinforcing what you and your dog have learned.

Then, we will have two more private lessons to hone in on your skills to communicate clearer with your dog. The first private lesson will be held at our facility. We will reinforce the commands previously taught, and then build on your dog’s skills by adding more distractions. We will also teach you and your dog the agility equipment and even walking on a treadmill. We will also be adding elements of real-world distractions to proof your dog’s skills. The 2nd private lesson will be out in public at a store, like Lowe’s to even further real world distractions to proof your dogs obedience.

If at any point after completing our Day Train Program you need help, you will have access to our trainers via a phone call or text. If instructions over the phone or through text do not solve your training issues, we will be glad to schedule another lesson to get you and your dog back on track.

Dave started his dog training career in 2001 in Denver, Colorado, where he opened his first company, Sit Happens Dog Training.

Dave’s ability to train any dog and communicate the techniques with clients quickly made him a sought-after trainer. He began performing seminars across the country for pet owners, dog trainers, and working dog handlers.

Maybe you’ve seen Dave and his dog, Yeager, appear on the David Letterman Show, Channel 5’s Chronicle, Fox 25, Guinness Book of World Records TV Show, The Outdoor Channel, and halftime shows at Gillette Stadium.

We love customers and their dogs. They love us.

Dave, an exceptional dog trainer, worked wonders with our lab pup, Murph, during training in 2020. Murph returned home with impeccable manners and improved leash behavior. Dave patiently guided our family on reinforcing the training, and Murph has maintained those skills over the years. Recently, we revisited Dave for a quick refresher, and it’s truly…

I am impressed with Sit Means Sit skills and techniques in training and even more impressed with their results. We have seen unmanageable dogs that become ladies and gentlemen with their tutelage.

Sit Means Sit has changed my out of control lab, Zoey, into a well-behaved dog. She pulled on a leash so badly that I couldn’t even take her for walks. After only one week, she was heeling off leash and right by my side. It was amazing! Now I enjoy hikes, walks, and other outings…

I just wanted to thank you and let you know how well Sammy and Sophie are responding to their training. Honestly, it feels like a miracle. We ran with both dogs on Monday morning. They both did a GREAT job. Thank you, already our lives have improved and both dogs seem happier.
